So the birth of Logan went like a flash. We induced our sweet boy just like we did with Connor. The big day was February 3rd. We showed up at the hospital at 5 in the morning. We were not tired we were excited. So the day began. I got my pertosin at 6:10. Then at 9:30 the doctor came in and checked me and broke my water. During all this I felt nothing, and things were moving along.
The funniest thing did happen about this time. Scott had been saying that he was a little tired so I told him to go get his ritual wake up call, Coffee. He refused he said that I could not drink it so he did not want to drink it. Well, I know my husband and he can not function without his coffee. No really he sleeps in till he has that first cup. So I really tried to incourage him to have that first cup I needed him to function. So he finally gave in and had his cup of coffee.
At around 10:30 I got up and walked in my room. I sat back down and noticed that it was getting later in the day. So I thought I guess I will ask for my epideral, again I still have felt nothing to this point. So I don't know what happen then but we ask for the epideral and at 10:40 the nurse came in to check me and said that I was a six at full face. So she headed to call for the epideral. Well, she came back and when she did I felt a small something. So she checked me again and said that she could see his head and if I sit for an epideral then he would pop out. That is what started it all the contractions were one right after the other. They were non stop! All I could do to get through them was to repeat "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". Only thing is that I could not get through the whole verse on one contraction. Then Scott was trying to help me breath and trying to help get me calm. So there he was next to me being supportive and I turn to him and say "EWWWW Coffee breath". We then both laughed and he apologized. Next thing we know Logan was born at 11:14!
Connor came to visit after school; he was very nervous to come close to Logan and me. Connor would not even sit on the end of my bed, I am not sure what he was thinking and was having a hard time processing it all. He said "He is so cute" when he first looked at Logan. Then when it was time for Connor to leave with Aunt Erin he gave everyone a hug goodbye.
While he was giving me a hug he faced in the direction of Logan and whispered in my ear "Mommy can we keep him"?
I smiled really hard and said "of Course".
Connor then said "can I take him home right now".
I said "well, Logan and mommy have to stay in the hospital just a little bit longer but I promise we will take him home later." Mommy will protect him and take him home later, ok?"
He said " OK".
I knew then that Connor would be the best BIG BROTHER!!!
