The Day My Logan was born!!!

So the birth of Logan went like a flash. We induced our sweet boy just like we did with Connor. The big day was February 3rd. We showed up at the hospital at 5 in the morning. We were not tired we were excited. So the day began. I got my pertosin at 6:10. Then at 9:30 the doctor came in and checked me and broke my water. During all this I felt nothing, and things were moving along.
The funniest thing did happen about this time. Scott had been saying that he was a little tired so I told him to go get his ritual wake up call, Coffee. He refused he said that I could not drink it so he did not want to drink it. Well, I know my husband and he can not function without his coffee. No really he sleeps in till he has that first cup. So I really tried to incourage him to have that first cup I needed him to function. So he finally gave in and had his cup of coffee.
At around 10:30 I got up and walked in my room. I sat back down and noticed that it was getting later in the day. So I thought I guess I will ask for my epideral, again I still have felt nothing to this point. So I don't know what happen then but we ask for the epideral and at 10:40 the nurse came in to check me and said that I was a six at full face. So she headed to call for the epideral. Well, she came back and when she did I felt a small something. So she checked me again and said that she could see his head and if I sit for an epideral then he would pop out. That is what started it all the contractions were one right after the other. They were non stop! All I could do to get through them was to repeat "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". Only thing is that I could not get through the whole verse on one contraction. Then Scott was trying to help me breath and trying to help get me calm. So there he was next to me being supportive and I turn to him and say "EWWWW Coffee breath". We then both laughed and he apologized. Next thing we know Logan was born at 11:14!
Connor came to visit after school; he was very nervous to come close to Logan and me. Connor would not even sit on the end of my bed, I am not sure what he was thinking and was having a hard time processing it all. He said "He is so cute" when he first looked at Logan. Then when it was time for Connor to leave with Aunt Erin he gave everyone a hug goodbye.
While he was giving me a hug he faced in the direction of Logan and whispered in my ear "Mommy can we keep him"?
I smiled really hard and said "of Course".
Connor then said "can I take him home right now".
I said "well, Logan and mommy have to stay in the hospital just a little bit longer but I promise we will take him home later." Mommy will protect him and take him home later, ok?" He said " OK".
I knew then that Connor would be the best BIG BROTHER!!!

Family Picture Update

I could not believe it when I saw this picture in my camera. I got an updated family picture!!!
Thank you grandma!

Bed Time Ritual

Every night when Connor goes to bed we have this Bed time Ritual. Lately, it has been different, I added an alarm to signify that it is bed time. Connor had been getting out of hand with his attitude and grumpiness. It seems that with our crazy busy schedule that Connor was not getting enough sleep. Then with him being so anti-nap, he was really a joy. (shaking my head)!!! He had been such a joy that he was getting into trouble at home and at school. So I finally decided that he was going to start having a bedtime. Before he would go to bed whenever we remembered and that would be around 9:30 or 10:00. Now at 8 o'clock my alarm goes off that it is bed time. So we start to tell Connor that he has about 15 minutes and he needs to have his pj's on. We try to have him in bed about 8:30. I wish earlier but this boy sure does know how to stall. So here is our ritual. Scott will tell Connor ok time for bed lets go. Connor will come to me and say "Mommy, can you and baby brother come lay with me for a little bit?" It is what he does that is so cute while he is saying this he does like a peace sign with his fingers and gives you this big smile. Then he will turn to Daddy and say "Daddy will you read the Wild Things?" We then will all head to his room. I sit on Connor's bed with him and Scott lays on the floor and reads the 'Where the Wild Things Are'. Connor always makes it through the book. He will lay there and play with his finger nails, I tell him to stop and to go to bed and then next thing we know he is still and sound asleep.

Maple Syrup

So did you know that mopping with Maple Syrup is not the best way to clean. Well, for some reason my grandmother did not know that??? For those that do not know my grandmother is now living with our family. It really was suppose to be for a really short time and she has been there since November. I have tried to find alternate living for her but with my full schedule there is only so much I can do and with my family not wanting to help. Oh yes they do not want to help their own mother. There has been the excuse of I don't know what to look for or I don't want her to be mad at me for putting her in a home. It has been so frustrating! Oh yea let me get back to the maple syrup. So we went to cubbies as we always do on Wednesday nights, we returned home and the floor was filthy. I did not know what it was but became very frustrated because I had not eaten yet and now I had this mess to clean. So I went to the pantry to try to find something to eat and noticed that a new maple syrup had been opened and almost half of it was gone. So I fixed the lid and put it back up. I then proceeded to my grandmother's room and asked her "What is all over the floor?" She told me "nothing I moped the floor". I told her "no it is filthy with streaks all over the floor." She then replied " The mop stinks so I got this brown bottle and used it to make the floor clean and smell better." I then said "That was not cleaner it was MAPLE SYRUP!" So yes I came home last night to a living room, hall, dining room and kitchen covered in maple syrup! Oh the ants that will feast today. Did I mention that there was also coke on our dishwasher (on the outside) cabinets and counter!! I still did not eat dinner. Whew gotta love going home!!!!!

Family Pictures

This is our family picture before Logan (He is in my tummy)

Hopefully I will get a picture of all four of us... Hey even better would be one of all five! Yea I guess we could include our stinky dog!

New Blog layout

OK I know you would think if i had time to search for a new background that I would have time to write an entry here and there. Well, I am not sure why but sitting down and actually writing words to tell a story is not my thing. I love having the entries to remember what happen and when. Oh believe me I need them. I actually have started writing a journal for both my boys because i have the worst memory ever and have realized that I do onmber important things that have happen unless there is a picture or someone else tells me about it. It actually makes me a little sad! I mean there are things that Scott will say hey remember when this happen or when we said this and I will give him this blank stare. He says how can you not remember and Iill say i don't know??? Because I really don't know why I can not seem to remember anything. The worst is that i can not remember my childhood. Even though i been told well it was so horrible you are probably blocking everything so that you could be happy. That could be true but what do i tell the boys or reference back to. Who knows I guess I could just continue writing and use from today to build on. Oh yea I actually started the journal a year ago. I wrote about 4 entries and then stopped and just started back up again, almost exactly a year later. I wish that i was not so bad at these things. Like scrapbooking I have so much paper and pictures and kits to try and help me get started and it just has not happen. I am so bad that my mom actually bought me one of those photo books that has done all the work for you as far as scrapbooking, all you have to do is put the pictures in. Guess what I have not done that yet either..... OHHHHH how frustrating!!!! I have done something that i am pretty proud of. On my maternity leave I came to the conclusion that i am a pack rat. It has not gotten so out of hand that you can not walk in a room but I do have a problem or maybe it is an organizational problem. What ever it may be i went through my stuff and reorganized closets and bookcases and even the garage. Which is full of other peoples stuff and boxes. By the way, why does everyone seem to think that we are a storage unit? Does it say at the front of our house "Hey don't have room drop your stuff here for FREE" OK as i am writing i am realizing that i do like to write it is just getting started that is the problem. OK do we see a pattern, I am I lazy because i don't like to start things. I never realized that i was that way. Wow what a problem. Hummm now to fix it. I just found out that for some reason i am writing over stuff i wrote before when I make changes or add something so there are two spots where there are mistakes. Not sure how to fix them because it would mess up everything. Of course Well forgive me if my blog is not in order I am actually going to try and write entries and they will vary as to what I was thinking of that day or remembering.

2009 A new year and new family

Well it has been a very long time since I wrote anything.... I have been so busy I think that I will finally be able to breath on Monday.. no really I know some of you are thinking didn't she just have a baby. How does she think she can breath now? Well, I think my life might slow down soon and I might get bored. That is how I think I can rest.
Yes you heard me if you did not know, I just had a baby!!! His name is Logan!!! He is precise and we love him dearly. He is so cute and I know everyone thinks their kid is cute but he looks like his big brother and well he is adorable. Unfortunately, I can't just bombard this site with pictures because I can't find my extension for the computer :( I have taken some on our phone and will post those but there are so many more on our camera! I will have to go buy a cord if I can't find it soon and then of course I will find the cord.

Connor and Logan

Are they not adorable?????

Connor has been so wonderful with his little brother. He helps me when the baby wakes up, he hunts me down and tells me "Mommy the baby needs you!!! He needs his diaper changed!!!"
