April washed away and May grew very quickly
Ok not sure if anyone got what I was saying in the title. I was trying to make a funny and be quirky. U know April showers and May flowers. I know if I have to explain it, it was bad. Oh well!!
So time has flown by and my life has not stopped.
Since my last blog Connor and I have had many adventures. We traveled with Nana to the big Metropolitian city and met with an old friend. A friend of our's Gabe came to Texas from Colorado and we got to sit with him and catch up on all the good times. Then that night for dinner we got to go eat at Pappadeux's. Scott happen to be in the city also at the time for work. So we all met up and ate dinner and then headed home.
Another exciting and fun thing that we did was we got to go to the Zoo with K.K. (Kids Kingdom). I was really lucky because I teach next door to Connor's class and I have Connor's teacher's little boy Abe in my class. When I heard that Connor's class was going to the Zoo, I asked Abe's mom if she would switch classes with me for the day. She so gratiously said yes and we were on our way. It was so much fun and a nice day to go to.
During April and May Connor got to go to some pretty fun birthday parties. Woo Hoo, Happy Birthday to you!!!!! Our first was Eliza's 3rd Birthday. Now there was no way that Connor would have let me let him miss Eliza's party. I do have to let you know what Eliza's invitation said it was so creative and cute.
"You're invited to join Eliza as she says: "Bye-Bye" to diapers at her 3rd Birthday Party!!!
Now is that not the best. What it was, on Eliza's birthday she was going to finally take the big step and be a big girl and use the potty. Her mom had tried to get her to use the potty before then but Eliza had decided that she did not want anything to do with the potty intill she turned 3. I told her mom wow her and Connor were to much alike!!! I did not know if he was waiting for her or what when he was having so much trouble. Thankfully he didn't!!!!!
Then the next weekend we got invited to another party for Noah. Noah was turning 3 also and he was celebrating it by going swimming. We were pretty excited that we got invited by Noah, so we went. Connor put on his swim trunks and stepped in the water and kept walking and walking and walking and plup!!!! Down he went into the water of course right as I was going to tell him to stop!!!! Noah's grandma has a really neat pool. Oh yea don't worry Connor was fine, scarred but fine. Back to the pool. It has on one side a really large platform under the water so the water is probably only about 2 feet deep. It has plenty of room to sunbath or for the kids to play on. So needless to say Connor did not swim the rest of the afternoon. I felt bad for him and when I got my heart back to its original place, we had fun ne-way!!! The really good thing that Connor did when he fell off the step was that he immediately began kicking his feet. It look like he was trying to swim on his back. I think that is a step in the right direction!!!!!

Bowling

Connor and I went bowling for the first time. We spent the day at school and then after school we went to Chick-fil-A to wait for the leagues to end. We were finally able to get our bowling shoes on. We went on our new adventure with Connor's teacher Mrs. Valerie and her son Joshua. We had lots of fun.
Connor actually bowled a strike. His score in the end was a 78, he was so proud of himself. I won the game with a 108. Oh yea, did I mention that yes we did have the bumpers. He wanted to keep playing but another league was on their way so we had to put an end to all the fun. He wanted me to take a picture of him in his bowling shoes. He said that he would like a pair to take home. I told him maybe we could find some like those somewhere else but I was not buying those.
The whole time that we played Connor was so incouraging. He would yell for who ever's turn it was and he would tell them that they did a good job. He was so excited about going bowling that he talks about taking everyone and when we could go again with Valerie and Joshua.
Lunch out

Last week We had lunch out with Nana. We went to this place that is small and quant. It was so yummy. Outside of the restaurant is a fountain and Connor loves to throw money in and make a wish.
He received his new favorite thing from his Nana also his Diego sunglasses. He loves those things. He now ask for them everytime we get in the car. He is so funny sometimes he will put them on upside down on purpose.
Was curious today?????

New Tradition

Connor got to experience a little tradition from my side of the family this week. His Nana (my mom) brought him cascarones. Cascarones for those who don't know are empty egg shells filled with confetti and have a thin paper covering the hole. They are usually decorated
or colored. Nana brought the eggs over and Connor thought they were more eggs to hunt. So I took him outside and cracked an egg over his head. I cracked the egg in my hand over his head, not actually on his head. He can experience that pain later with his cousins. He thought it was the coolest thing and wanted to crack eggs over every one's head. He started first with his daddy because daddy got home right after I cracked one on him. The great sport that dad is he came outside and Connor told him "Carry you daddy". Scott picked him up and Connor cracked the egg over his daddy's head. Then Connor looked for someone else and
there walked up Siefker (our dog) and then he
got his Nana too. He loved it and wanted to crack them all but he didn't. He saved two, one for Trinity and her sister Taylor. So ever since I hear everyday how we should go to Trinity's house because Connor wants to crack an egg on her head. He did not get me, I think because I was the one taking the pictures. Siefker did steal two of the eggs out of the carton. I am not sure but I do think that he thought that they might have food in them. I bet he was disappointed when he bit into them.

Connor and I did what we normally do during the week. We went to work and school. It was a fun week going back. I missed the kids in my class and Connor missed his friends. In class we usually have an art project. In Connor's class their art project was making the crown upon his head. He really liked wearing his crown and could not wait to show his daddy!

Easter
Till today
Well, we have been busy till today..... This month was eventful for us all. My husband has gotten older. To show his true age (LOL!) he really is not old, but he wanted to go to a Willie Nelson concert. I went to the concert with little to expect. I did hear that Willie can throw a fun concert. Deanna Carter opened for Willie and that was fun. She seems like a really nice person and boy can she sing. It was funny but during the concert her son was there so everyone sang the itsy bitsy spider. I turned to Scott when she said her 3 year old was there and said we should have brought Connor with us and they could have played. We had fun and it was nice going out together!!!!
Spring Break
We are on spring break! WOOHOO! Oh wait not so much fun??? I worked the beginning of spring break at my job and then i worked the rest at home. My work at home consisted of me taking the next big step in my son's life ...... POTTY training!!!!! Wow, why is it so hard to train a boy? I actually have been trying to complete this task for quite some time now. I would sit on the potty and tell him to go. Sometimes, he would go like he was suppose to but then it would just be something that he tried and he would go back to what he is use to. Then out of nowhere he became violent and against even the word potty. One night we went to the Monster trucks and we had a friend go with us, well our friend is potty training too. When he went to the bathroom, I told Connor look he uses the potty. He said so and then threw tortilla dough at another table. Just one example.... Of course I was embarrassed. So from then on I told everyone they were no longer allowed to talk of the potty to Connor.

Then a week before spring break I got up every morning with a cheery disposition and sat Connor on the potty.
Now no more smiles I want him in underclothes and no More DIAPERS!!!! As of today I think we are successful!!!! He now goes to the potty!!!! I am so overjoyed. It was a tough week but I am so thankful. He has some things he still needs to learn but he has down when he needs to go. Like why does he sit to go and then jump up and down. HELLO, you are spraying everything everywhere????? Is that some boy thing where you like to watch it and see how far your pee will go?????
I included a picture of his potty for those that are curious???
Oh yea did I mention that the potty is in front of the T.V.....It is the only way he will go.
Now just to conquer #2!!!!!!
We did have some fun during spring break. On Friday we had a play date, with one of Connor's friends from school. Her name is Trinity. She is absolutely adorable. She wants to marry Connor. I did ask her if she could wait a little while longer before marrying him, I wanted some more time with him right now. We met then for lunch and fun at their house. I did not take any pics, I just was having to much fun with her mom, Jennifer. It was nice sitting and talking to another adult. She did tell me something that I thought was really sweet. I hope she does not mind me telling this story. She told me that they had moved here from a near by town and that Trinity did not like going to their school (MDO)because it was different from what she had before. Trinity had lots of friends that she had left behind and did not make new ones at the school here(not at first). So she did not want to go back to their class. Mom told her that she needed to go back and maybe it would be better. Well, I guess she did come back and that is when Connor talked to her and became her friend. I hope I am telling this right. From then on I guess she always talked about Connor with her parents and how they are friends. Needless to say she went and wanted to go back to class. I really hope that her mom and I can build a friendship, so that Connor and Trinity can always stay friends. They live really close to us so Connor and Trinity will be going to school together. (when they get there).

A little about me
Not sure if you know about me or if we have never met.......So here it is ????
My name is Latisha. Everyone calls me everything but Latisha and i am totally cool with that. I was born and raised in Texas and I am currently living there. We did move to Colorado for a while but Texas was Home. I am married to a wonderful man who works too much, his name is Scott. We have a son named Connor and he is a true blessing. I graduated from Baylor!!! Go BEARS!!! I am suppose to be a stay at home mom but I started working at a weekend job and that turned into a 25- 30 hour a week gig. I work at a Boutique. Then I started working on Tuesday's and Thursday's, so now I work about 42 hours a week. So much for staying home. I work at a Mother's Day out program with 2 year olds. Both jobs have their perks!!!
Well I will probably tell you the rest as I write in the future.
Why this was created!!!!!!
Well, so it begins!! I have seen many of my friends and family start their blogs and thought that I did not have enough to say to start one. At the request of many for pictures of Connor I decided that maybe I should open the lines of communication. So here I am writing my first blog. Let me apologize now if I say or doing anything to insult someone, but I have been told that I speak before I think. I know that I type and send before I think too. And well this is my blog!!!
So heres to me trying to keep up with creating posts. Hopefully, I keep up and keep it interesting.
If you are wondering why I choose the green, it is my son's, Connor, favorite color.
Happy reading and thanks for visiting!!!!!!
